Our Story
Founder Charlie grew up in Houston Heights, and the neighborhood played a huge role in shaping who he is. It's where he learned the value of community, hard work, and looking out for the people around you. When it came time to name the company, New Heights felt right. It reflects the neighborhood that raised him, but it also reflects what the company has always hoped to do: raise expectations for what coffee can be and the role it can play in strengthening communities.
Long before he worked in coffee, Charlie spent a lot of his life feeling different. He grew up with ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. For a long time those things felt like obstacles. As he got older, he realized they were also some of his greatest strengths. They taught him to approach problems differently, to value people who think differently, and to recognize that the best teams are rarely made up of people who all see the world the same way. That realization eventually became the foundation of New Heights Coffee.

Different approaches create better coffee.
At the end of the day, coffee is simply the vehicle. What New Heights is really building is a community, one that stretches from producers at origin to baristas behind the bar, from wholesale partners opening their doors each morning to customers sharing a cup with a friend. They're proud to call Houston Heights home, and grateful for every person who has become part of the journey.
